Miles Weber Shares Why He Always Wears Number 2

United States, 8th Jun 2026 — Miles Weber, professional basketball player, entrepreneur, and founder of Fully Feared and Fully Feared Sports, today shared the deeply personal story behind the number “2” that has followed him throughout his basketball career. While fans often associate jersey numbers with style, superstition, or preference, Weber says his choice carries a much deeper meaning rooted in family, faith, resilience, and purpose.

For Weber, who has competed professionally throughout Latin America, Europe, Asia, and the Caribbean, the number serves as a daily reminder of the two men who helped shape him long before basketball became a profession.

“I wear #2 in honor of my two grandfathers,” Weber said. “They are my two reasons to keep going. No matter how difficult the road gets, how many setbacks I face, or how uncertain things become, they remind me to stay resilient and keep moving forward. Whenever I’m facing adversity, I think about the sacrifices they made, the values they instilled in me, and the belief they had in me long before anyone else did. That’s why quitting has never been an option.”

Both grandfathers played significant roles in Weber’s upbringing and were among the earliest influences in both his life and athletic journey.

On his mother’s side, Thomas Green briefly played basketball at the University of Illinois and became one of Miles’ biggest supporters, attending games throughout his childhood and encouraging him to pursue the sport he loved.

On his father’s side, Harry Weber shared a lifelong passion for sports with his grandson. Whether it was attending games live or sitting together at home watching on television, sports became a bond that connected generations. From Chicago Bulls games to Chicago Bears Sundays, some of Miles’ favorite memories were created alongside both of his grandfathers. They watched countless games together, talked sports for hours, and shared a love for competition that helped shape his outlook on life.

Basketball, in particular, became something that connected all three of them.

“I was incredibly fortunate to have both of them in my life,” Weber said. “I wouldn’t be the player I am today or the man I’ve become if it wasn’t for my grandfathers and the positive examples they set. They taught me how to work hard, treat people the right way, stay humble, and keep pushing forward no matter what life throws at you. They supported me, believed in me, and shared my love for sports and basketball. Some of my favorite memories are simply sitting with them watching games, talking basketball, breaking down players, and spending time together. We bonded through sports, especially basketball, and that’s something I’ll carry with me forever.”

Both grandfathers passed away around the same time during Weber’s freshman year where he was at Western Kentucky University, making it one of the most difficult periods of his life. The loss forever changed his perspective and strengthened his commitment to honoring them through the way he lives, competes, and carries himself.

When Weber got his first tattoo, he chose to honor both men by placing their names on his arm alongside the Bible verse that was read at each of their funerals.

“My tattoos and my #2 jersey serve as a permanent reminder of where I came from,” Weber said. “No matter where basketball takes me, I carry them with me. Every practice, every game, every country I’ve played in, they’re still part of the journey.”

Today, that same mindset continues to drive Weber both on and off the court. Throughout a professional career spanning multiple continents, he has built a reputation for resilience, adaptability, and finding opportunities where others see obstacles. From navigating different cultures and leagues to building businesses and helping athletes create opportunities of their own, the lessons passed down from his grandfathers remain at the center of everything he does.

Away from the game, Weber is the founder of Fully Feared and Fully Feared Sports. Built from his own experiences navigating professional basketball, the brands represent perseverance, faith, accountability, and the willingness to keep moving forward despite uncertainty.

Through Fully Feared Sports, Weber has helped create opportunities for hundreds of athletes worldwide through player placement, career advising, international tours, and partnerships with clubs and leagues across multiple countries. His mission is to help athletes gain access to opportunities he understands firsthand can change lives.

“The number 2 reminds me that nothing worthwhile comes easy,” Weber said. “It’s a reminder to stay grateful, stay humble, keep working, and never forget the people who helped me get here. Everything I do today—whether it’s basketball, business, or helping other players—is rooted in those lessons.”

For Weber, the meaning of #2 has never changed.

It is not about statistics.

It is not about recognition.

It is about remembering where he came from, honoring the people who believed in him first, and carrying their legacy forward every single day.
